Method
Mixed-methods will be used to gather and analyze data from three sources:
- A national survey of a stratified random sample of at least 200 secondary teacher preparation programs,
- Case studies of algebra-related learning in four purposefully chosen secondary mathematics teacher preparation programs, and
- Focus groups with 8 student teachers at each of the four case study programs.
